Two days ago, I was trying desperately to finish my editorial. I couldn’t move ahead with my layout because I kept on thinking I hadn’t written my editorial yet (not to mention the President’s message–why can’t they write their own messages, anyhoo? beats me!) I tried to surf the net for inspiration, but went back again to the theme. what is it, anyway? Well, since it’s the Company’s 95th anniversary, MItch, Ai and I thought of making it sound young-ish (i mean, turning 95 doesn’t exactly mean being young still, right?) We decided then, that the theme would be “Loving Life @ 95″ It’s simple, yet full of meaning. Best of all, it captures perfectly what we want to say… that even though “we” are already old, we still know how to enjoy life… and we have a lot to say about life, being here for close to a century.
so much for the theme.
anyway, as i was saying, it suddenly occured to me i should be writing about that (i temporarily forgot that the editorial should talk about the magazine’s theme. silly me!)
so what is it about loving life? Why do I love life? and so, i tried to answer this question. Here’s what i came up with…
I love life because i have a loving and supportive family who has been with me through thick and thin (literally and figuratively.)
I love life because of a wonderful, loving husband who is also my bestfriend, a forever boyfriend, passionate kisser and lover, favorite ka-duet (he has a to-die-for voice), confidant, adviser, big hugger…in short, he’s everything to me…
I love life because of a beautiful 8-year old kid who always melts my heart and gives me a reason to appreciate God’s creations. My Kara is also a good daughter when she’s not supposed to wake up early in the morning (because then, she gets really cranky.) She is also everything to me.
I love life because I have many friends–some of whom I haven’t seen for a long time. Yet, when we finally see each other, it would be as if we just saw each other yesterday. The warmth will always be there.
I love life because it affords me the chance to enjoy doing the things i love most–singing to my heart’s content, reading good books and magazines (including FHM. heehee!), watching movies with Daddy and Kara, writing, learning everything under the sun, taking nightly showers with my honey, talking and chatting (not the kind you do over the net–but real, personal, face-to-face chatting with friends…pwede na din over the phone), EATING…oh, the list is endless…
I love life for the simple reasons that i can see, hear, smell, taste, and touch those close to my heart, and because of these, I get to appreciate God’s wonderful works, as well.
I love life because I get the chance to do something different every new day and life i am given by the Almighty God. And I am given the chance to improve on the not-so-wonderful things that have happened to me and those around me.
I love life because of the many trials I had to go through, which have molded me into what I am now. I know there will be more, and just as long as I keep my wits with me, and I hold on to the Big Man, I know I will be able to get through them.
