It all ends in July.
For me, it ended the moment I got to the last page of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. And that was last Sunday.
I know. It’s been ages since the book came out. The first installment of the movie had already been shown, and in fact, the second, and the last installment (again, of the movie) is going to be shown this July, so how come I had just finished the book? Well, let’s just say I intentionally put off reading the book for as long as I could.
Don’t get me wrong. It’s not that I don’t love the series. In fact, I read all the other books almost as soon as they first came out, but this one I decided would have to wait. You see, I had the feeling that the moment I finished reading it, I’d feel a sense of loss, knowing it was the last in the series, and that JK Rowling wouldn’t write an 8th, since Voldemort, the most evil of all evils, would already be defeated in the 7th.
But because I did not want to lose the chance of watching the last installment of the Harry Potter Movie series, I decided it was time to read the book. (On hindsight, this also means I would have to watch the first installment of the 7th movie on DVD. Never mind that.)
And what was the verdict? True enough, the moment I got to the last page, I felt a sense of loss, having realized I would not be reading about a new adventure of Harry Potter and Ron and Hermione. I felt as if the book took with it a part of my heart, never to return again.
Chos. Ang drama. But honestly, I really felt something was taken away from me. Reading the pages that tell of what happened 19 years post Voldemort’s defeat was like knowing that in just a matter of minutes, I’d really be separated from a dear, loved one.
But when Ate Kara and I were discussing it over lunch last Sunday, (She had already finished the book eons ago), and I was refreshing her memory about what happened, I realized, well, all is not lost. Since I am known for having a short-term memory myself, I’m sure, in just a few months, I’d totally forget the details of the 7th Harry Potter book. This realization made me, for the first time, thankful of the fact that I now have more “senior moments.” Haha!
So yeah, the movie ends in July, but for me, the story doesn’t really end, for I know, it will always be like a friend to me, one that I could go back to from time to time, and I have a feeling, we’d just pick up where we left off as if we just saw each other yesterday.

Ang maganda kasi dito, uulit-ulitin mong basahin ang libro. Paulit-ulit kang malulungkot. Paulit-ulit lulundag ang puso mo pag muntik ka nang tamaan ng Expelliarmus spell. Paulit-ulit kang maiinis kay Rita Skeeter. Paulit ulit ulit ulit lang. Pero hindi nakakasawa.
Excited na rin ako sa movie as well. Kaya nirerefresh ko na ang utak ko. Nakakatuwa, Yung mga eksenang umepek ng todo sa akin eons ago, yun pa rin.

haha kala ko dumating yung housemate mo. ahahaha!
but true, yung pagkatanga ni harry kaya sila natunton sa tent ng mga death eaters, yung pagpunta sa gringotts, yung pagkamatay ni dobbie, yung laban nina mollie at bellatrix. ang dami dami e. pero lalo yung pagiging hero ni snape. awww…nalungkot na naman ako na tapos ko na yung libro. kahapon nga halos nakalimutan kong tapos ko na yung libro hinahanap ko naalala ko nandun pala kay ate kara. hiniram ulit para basahin ulit. ahahahha!
Sorry naman, na-bore ako sa libro. Buti pa ang Twilight series. Booyeah!
I used to like the Twilight series but realized it’s overkill. bella is just too stupid (yeah, KMN). haha! don’t get me wrong tho, meron kami nung lahat ng four books. or siguro nainis lang ako sa film adaptation. ang panget ng cast. di marunong umarte yung dalawang lead character.
medyo nakumpara ko pa nga sa heroine ng hunger games trilogy si bella, ang kaibahan lang, mas may substance ang character ni katniss everdeen. haha!
hindi ako nabore sa libro. naexcite ako at may mga panahon na nagugulat ako pag may kumakausap saken habang nagbabasa ako. hahaha! praning!
ise-second emotion (haha) kita kay bella. i think she’s too full of herself. di ko nga alam bat ko tinapos yang twilight series na yan…dala na lang siguro ng pagka-tsismosa ko na kahit napaka-predictable ng plot eh kelangan matapos ko ang inumpisahan kong basahin.
haha! ako rin tinapos ko ang twilight series kasi naman binasa ni ate kara kaya kelangan kong tapusin din.
parang tanga lang talaga si bella kasi all she wanted was to get laid by a vampire…haha!
Yung release ng Book 7, hindi ko malilimutan. Yun yung dahilan kung pano kami ulit nagkausap matapos ng mahabang tampuhan at kaechosan. Pukirikit lang.
Sa barkada ko nung college, Harry Potter fan kaming lahat. Sabay sabay kaming bumili ng copy at nagkukumparahan kung anong chapter na si ganto, si ganyan. Bubulungan ang ibang mabilis magbasa para hindi ma spoil yung mga nagrereview may quiz kase kuno. Shet memories.
At oo, masarap syang basahin ng paulit ulit. I can’t remember how many times I read Book 7. Dati yung Book 3 yung pinapaulit ulit ko. Yung Book 7 andaming nangyari, gusto ko i absorb lahat mula ulo hanggang kuko sa paa. Hihi.
haha! ang dami nating adik kay HP. hanggang ngayon tinatanong ko pa rin sa sarili ko kung gawa gawa lang ni JK rowling lahat o talagang may mga wizards and witches na tulad nila na nabubuhay sa mundo. Ako na ang muggle. haha!
bakit yung book 3? gusto ko ulitin mula book 1 hanggang book 7
sana lang me time ako. but then, I still have loads of books to read so malabo itong mangyari. haha! 
pasensya na po hindi ako maka relate sa kwento nu, to be honest hindi ko pa napapanood yan siguro out of date na tsaka ko mapapanood yan sa sobrang busy ko ngayon. dam kasi akong ginagawa.
ok lang po. lahat naman tayo busy sa maraming gawain. andyan lang naman ang mga libro. pag me oras, e di basahin natin.
or panoorin na lang sa dvd ang lahat ng mga HP movies. hehe.
yokong isipin na matatapos na sya… tama ka momy na pagnatapos mo na ung book parang may panghihinayang factor, pero may ugali rin akong inuulit-ulit ko pagmaganda ung libro. chaka di ko po napanood ung unang installment kasi gusto ko mapanood ng diretcho. ehehehe…

di ko makalimutan yong unang reaction ko nung mabasa ang pagkamatay ni dobbie, tumutulo ang luha ko pero di ko mabitawan ang libro, tapos yong kay snape, tinigil ko muna ang pagbabasa tapos tumawag pa sa isang friend para sabihing love na love ko na si snape.. hahaha, at narealized kung sobrang adik ko nga..hahahaha!
haahahaha I can fully understand how you felt about snape. I actually already know this would happen sa dami ng mga spoilers na nabasa ko but I still wasn’t prepared for what I read. gusto ko biglang kutusan si dumbledore. ahahaaha! affected much.

as expected, the story ended with a strong finish. yun lang, there’s a sad feel that we arrive at knowing it already came to an end. but i knew how you enjoyed reading it alone since matagal ka na rin di nakakabasa ng books sa house, and besides, that gave you the time for yourself to unwind and relax. for sure, i will have the same thrill if in case i also read the final chapter of the HP series. maybe one of these days…
come to think of it, ill probably finish the last book i was reading. halos a few chapters na lang naman s’ya. thanks Be for this. am reminded to go back to reading again…

Just recently, JK Rowling launched this site where there are more Harry Potter – related stories will be “interactively” created for money, err, for Harry Potter fans. Ako, I sincerely wished na sana namatay na si Harry Potter together with Voldemort. Para wala nang continuation. I’m afraid that future stories will diminish his stature.

I can understand that…wishing harry potter died but I’m still a sucker for happy endings so I’d rather buhay siya. haha!

holy shit! mami kaye, isa ka rin palang hp freak. malapit na ang july 15 and this early, sina-psyche ko na ang sarili ko sa pagbabasa ule nung book 7. naalala ko bigla, pagkalabas na pagkalabas nung book 7, kaniya-kaniyang pila kami ng mga barkada ko sa iba-ibang book store. paunahan kung sino makakakuha ng kopya. tas biglang diretso basa pagkauwi, walang tulugan at ihi lang ang pahinga. tas payabangan kung sino na ang llamado sa pagbabasa. lol! napa-reminisce bigla.
bukod sa mga libro ni stephen king at ng epic trilogy ni tolkien, etong series na ‘to ang pinakapaborito kong libro sa balat ng lupa. may bali-balita nga na mukang open daw si rowling para sa paggawa ng 8th, 9th or 10th book. hindi ko alam kung overkill pero ayos lang. kung totoo man ‘yun, for sure isa ako sa mga unang bibili.

Book 7 lng ang nabasa ko at sa July 17 ang showing d2, nalungkot lng akong bigla natapos ang harry potter na wala akong nakasamang manood nito.
mas nakakalungkot kung binasa mo yung lahat ng books sa series kasi kahit gaano pa kaganda yung mga movies mas maganda pa rin ng mga tripleng beses ang libro dahil mas kumpleto at masarap magbasa dahil imagination lang ang gamit mo. kaya nga para akong may makakalayong friend nung matapos ko yung libro. hahaha!
I’m a big fan of this series, this last installment, to be more specific, but the first half of it’s movie remake was my death of boredom. I was with three other friends when we saw this, and I remember one of them waking up during the screening because he had to answer his phone.
I totally got that uncouth bastard. Naintindihan ko siya.
haha di pa ako relate sa first installment ng movie because I haven’t seen it yet. But i’ll make sure that before the second installment is shown, we’ve watched this at home already. para mas fresh pa sa memory where the first movie left off.

at tulad rin ng pagba-babay sa kaibigan, itinutuloy mo pa rin kahit malungkot. alam mo naman kasing isang araw ay magkikita kayo uli. and you can easily pick things up from where you left off. and know that those are good times, indeed.

Wala pa po akong book na nababasa, loser din ako. Pero movie series wala akong pinalampas, yung half blood at yung 7.1 ng deathly dito ko na napanood kahit malabo ang pirated cd. Good thing about HP is parang part na talaga siya ng buhay ng mga sumubaybay lalo na siguro nung book. Isang kasaysayan na ang HP maging ang batikang si JK Rowling. Oh Yeah mapapanood ko na sa sine ang last part! Ngayon lang po ulet nakadaan.
