My joy list

56

Category : family, musings

I was looking for an email I sent to a friend when I came across a different email I sent to him with the subject titled “What is your joy list?” This article was written by preacher Bo Sanchez and in it, he wrote in detail the things that give him joy, hence, the title.

My mind immediately went to work listing mentally what my joy list would contain.

In no particular order, here they are:

1. Seeing my children, hugging and kissing them. And hugging and kissing and kissing and hugging them. This means that even if Ate Kara is already all of 12 years old, I still enjoy kissing and hugging and yes, even pestering her. Many a time she has told her friends she has a makulit and kunsintidorang mom. I agree.

2. Hearing Kara tell me she loves me after talking over the phone. Hearing Jeremy tell me he loves me. (Cass can’t say I love you yet)

3. Kissing and hugging Bong

4. Hearing Bong tell me he loves me a couple of times in one day. Smile

5. Reading Bong’s text messages as I begin another day at work, telling me he loves me so much and that he wishes I’d have a great day…to think we ride together on our way to work.

6. Hearing mass together as a family…singing the responsorial psalm during the Mass…singing for Him

7. Praying every morning with Bong before going to work

8. knowing that the kids are safe and very well-taken care of (just gave Jeremy’s yaya a raise. Ü)

9. Shopping for the kids and Bong

10. grocery shopping. Yes, even this.

11. Finding a 500 peso bill in my wallet when I thought I didn’t have money anymore (I didn’t withdraw from the ATM so I thought I only had P50 in my wallet)

12. receiving emails from friends…not the forwarded ones, but those that ask how you are, and tell you what they are up to

13. blogging and blog hopping

14. reading good books

15. taking showers with Bong

16. singing…hearing Bong sing (Bong’s a wonderful singer. I so love it when he sings Ngayon at Kailanman…) Hearing Kara sing Love moves in mysterious ways. She has a very sweet voice. hearing Jeremy and Cassie sing Twinkle twinkle little stars and Barney’s closing song “I love you”

17. hearing people praise Kara for being a nice young lady

18. going on a date with Bong. Going on a date with Kara

19. bathing the little piglets

20. cooking a nice meal and being praised for it (Bong and Kara are my biggest fans)

21. malling or chatting with my sister Anne

22. kissing my mom and telling her i love her

23. chatting over the phone with my mom-in-law and sis-in-law

24. getting a “very good”, “excellent” or “outstanding” remark from our company chairman for a speech I wrote for him

25. publishing our company newsletter (which I edited and laid out…boy! it’s like giving birth to your own kid)

26. meeting my best buddies for dinner after work

I still have a lot,  and I will surely add more to this… I realized the things that give me joy are mostly those one can’t buy. After all, you can never buy love, caring and friendship, can you?

How about you, what is in your joy list?

BIS!

I would like to do one too, but the things that make me happy are too, well, unusual to share. So I’ll pass. Haha.

I remember the time when we first printer our thesis draft. We named it ‘baby’. Out little baby. At least we somehow experienced giving birth to something. Haha. Raise your newsletter well. Smile

Sweet namang mag asawa. Gusto ko na rin tuloy mag asawa. Hahaha.

ahihihi. that’s how i treat every issue of my newsletter. talagang para akong nanganak because blood and tears talaga itong maituturing, especially when my correspondents are late submitting their articles, or when there are just too many things to do and I can’t seem to find the time to edit and layout the whole thing. hay.

actually there were some things I couldn’t put here. I’d like to maintain the “innocence” of this blog. hahahaa!

Bente palang po. Keri pa after ilang years balak ko pa mag aral. Hehe. Parang masaya lang na magsulat as a profession. Pero mukhang mahirap den. Hindi ko na alam gagawin ko. Haha. Midlife crisis agad. Lol.

at tama nga, mag-aral ka hanggat bata ka pa. i’ve been wanting to go back to school but until the kids are older, I won’t do so. I just know i’d regret not being able to watch them grow and being there while this happens. everything else, i believe, can wait.

Kurekness.

Haha. Mali pala lababo! Ang gusto ko eh magkaanak muna. Hehe.

so sweet.

pwede na ba kitang maging ate?

Grin

your husband and children are so lucky to have you!!

Smile

I actually look at it the other way… I am lucky to have my husband and children. And I believe, as long as God is in the center of your family, then things will always go well. Wink

sana our family do hear mass together. I remember my mom wanting us to go to church, the four of us but my tatay just wouldn’t. Pero it’s not a big deal (for me). Basta this one thing I love about my family still continues, okay nako.

Having a meal together and watch tv right after. That’s the time when we laugh about each other. My sister play jokes on my father and everyone just bursts into laughter. I even remember having to say “PASS MUNA AKO” to my barkada because I was enjoying the company of my family.
=)

syempre di ko pinroofread. whatever. Sa tuesday na ang balik ko.. Enjoy the weekend with your kyut kyut kids and your husband.. Ako rin. I will enjoy this short vacation. Yehoo!

hey, that’s actually included in my joy list…having meals together as a family… that includes my own pre-married life family–parents, sisters… pero ngayon mas malaki na family namin dahil sa in-laws and yes i do enjoy having meals together pa rin, especially pag walang okasyon.

funny, but you know, sineryoso namin yung famealy day nung sept 28. haha. talagang even bong had to go home extra early para lang kumain kami ng sabay sabay.

hearing mass is something we do together talaga every sunday. it’s important for bong and me to instill the christian faith to our children. sa akin, regardless of our religion, it’s really good to worship together. kung ayaw ni tatay mo, ok lang as long as you’re able to bond, at maganda ang bonding kapag kumakain.

awww… natouch naman ako sa sinabi mo na you had to forego your gimik with friends in order to bond with your family. i wish all kids would do that. at sana kapag may pamilya ka na, ikaw bilang tatay ang magiinitiate ng family bonding moments nyo–hearing mass and eating meals together. tall order, i know, but your kids will appreciate that.

My Joy list:

1. My child

2. My wife

3. My friends

4. Chicken

5. To the world

6. Stick

7. Dishwashing

Napasmile ako sa Chicken. Smile

haha. ako natawa sa to the world. talagang joy to the world lang siya. christmas na christmas ang dating. hehehe…

galing mo talaga mag timangkeyfy…
chicken joy, joy to the world, joy stick at joy dishwashing. hahaha! ang kulet!

hehehe… thanks po. =)

too bad Timangkism is not that popular yet.

I wanna spread smiles all over and share my thoughts. (kahit minsan, i mean kadalasan medyo green)

spread TIMANGKISM. =)

hehe. di naman. naisipan ko lang ilista. as i’ve said, it was preacher Bo Sanchez who wrote the article and I just wanted to list down the things/people that give me joy. but it would be nice if you will make your own at nang mabasa din namin

like ko yung: maligo with bong.. ahehehe

Hi Shynyrd PSY101. Nakisabit lang… hehe

surely! it’s nice if we would put aside all the negativity of this world and list down the things that make us joyful. sige ilista mo at nang mabasa din namin… i’d like to know what you have in mind. ako marami pang gustong idagdag diyan eh…

heehee. tanungin ko din si bong mamaya kung gusto niya maligo with you. hahahaah!

bong yung kapitbahay namin. toinks.. joke lang..

si bf na lang… hehehe…

uy…showers with the bf…hmmm… *naiintriga mode*

true, the best things in life are free Smile

oh yes, mare.

*First time here*

haba po ng list ah, cguro if I’ll make a list din, for sure mahaba din, pero no.1 sa list ko ay..

1. To wake up everyday alive, see my family smile and see the world the way it should be.

Grin

Nice one. What I listed actually e not in that particular order, but only those things that I really really enjoy. There are still a lot in my mind that I haven’t included in that list. hehehe. I think it’s important for us to really appreciate what we have, especially those that can’t be bought, and which are given freely, foremost of which is love. Smile

hey, thanks for dropping by!

This made my insides feel warm and all. Wee. You have an awesome life, Ate Kaye. Smile Wee. Hehe. Punung-puno ng meaning ang buhay nyo. Reading this post made me feel good inside. Smile Sobra.

hey there, i emailed you something…

thanks for dropping by again. I think you have to make your own, don’t you? Smile

Salamat for sharing your Joy List. Talagang kapag may Joy List lalo tayong nagiging grateful kay Lord.

“A happy family is but an earlier heaven.”—George Bernard Shaw

Masarap din after ng Joy List ay ang Wish List or yung tawag na Bucket List(from the movie with the same title).

Ingat lagi & i hope na ok na ok ka na.

hello tay. sabi nga sa financial planning forum namin, talagang ngayon pa lang daw kelangan na ang bucket list na yan. because when you have one, you really work hard to attain them.

I actually love that movie. I cried buckets when I first watched it. it’s very poignant, at the same time, it will leave you with a good feeling pa rin kasi alam mo na the two main characters were able to achieve what they have written in their bucket list. makes you want to do something for your own. Smile

yes, fads. this joy list is actually another way for counting one’s blessings. it’s in the “little” things we usually take forgranted that we find joy and fulfillment.

kmusta naman at di man lang ako nakaabot sa base contest last saturday. lokong bagyong santi kasi eh. for the most part e wala kaming kuryente. hirap kaya nun. Frown

hello! welcome to my site!

thanks…hmmm… I actually didn’t see myself as the one giving. In fact, parang ako yung palaging on the receiving end of so much love from my family. and what can you do, but give back the love you receive, right? Smile

nakakatuwa naman ‘yung ibang nasa joylist mo..indeed, may mga simpleng bagay naman talaga na puwedeng magpasaya sa atin..even the things we don’t usually notice, ‘pag napagtuonan natin ng pansin at nakita, gaya ng mga puno, ibon, mga bulaklak na ‘di na bago sa ating paningin..nagiging kaaya-aya.. ^_^

amen to that. actually, di ko lang nasama, pero the mere fact that God gives me a new day everyday, that’s already enough to be thankful for.

what’s in your joy list? gawa na! Smile

“I love you, you love me. We’re a happy family.. with a great big hug and a kiss from me to you, wont you say you love me too!” – Barney. Hehe.

What makes me happy? Yung pwedeng araw-arawin.. Yung kahit walang special occasion, magagawa po natin.. Yung ganyan na ganyan din po! Oh, Bo Sanchez, he is one good writer po talaga!

haha! bravo, ax! at saulado ang kanta ni barney. hahaha! i actually love singing this with the two piglets kasi when we reach the line “with a great big hug and a kiss from me to you”, they both hug me then kiss me kaya ang sarap sarap ng feeling!

hey, go make your own joy list. I’d love to read yours as well. Smile

With a great kick and a slap from me to you, won’t you say you hate me too! Pero joke lang po! Haha..

Smile

haha! feel na feel ko nga ang energy mo habang nagcocomment eh, which is why i enjoyed reading it. hehehe

nakow. ok lang yun. gawain din namin ni kara yan eh, magpalit ng lyrics. tuwa lang din ako ke barney kasi maraming songs and i want the kids to learn through music because i’ve found it easier to teach them through songs.

Anyway, you are such a sweet Reyna Kaye..yes..that is your name in my bahay kubo.

“reading a good book” kasama din sya hehe!

be happy! ^^

hello bon!

Yep kasama dyan ang reading a good book kasi mahilig ako magbasa. Ü

Hi Be! thanks for your joy list. If ever I will go back reading this from time to time just to remind me how wonderful our family is. and being part of it is such a blessing to me everyday. thanks Be for being my Be for life, and for our bundles of joy — Kara, Jemy, Cassie — though they’ve grown up na they’re still the best gifts a dad could ever have in my whole lifetime. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH and for always!

Be, thanks for completing me everyday!

love you so much, too, dad.
